Music Controls in Google Maps on iPhone
Open Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad and tap your profile icon in the top right, then select “Settings.”
Next, go to “Navigation.”
And now select “Music Playback Controls.”
You’ll see a list of supported streaming services installed on the device. Select the one you’d like to use. Depending on the service, you may be asked to open the app and authorize Google Maps to control it.
With that out of the way, you can start navigating to a location.
Swipe up on the bottom card and you’ll see a widget for your music app with media controls.

This will open a simplified interface for you to interact with.
Once you’re playing music, you can tap the app icon while in navigation mode to open media controls.
Anything that can help you keep your eyes on the road is something worth doing. If you use Google Maps for navigation a lot, it’s a good idea to set this up. Don’t sacrifice safety to rock out to some tunes on the highway.
